With the Winter Olympics only 2 and a half years away this is an important season for Martin Wright and his crew.
So far this season they have had 85 training runs in Cesana, Italy, Lake Placid USA, Salt Lake City USA and Calgary Canada.
This has been the best pre-season build up every since I have been in British Bobsleigh says Martin…Thanks must go out to Richard Simmons and the Board for making this possible. We have done some interesting work with ??? you know who you are Boss Bob and Co...also thanks to AIC. This season will be a tough season but one to which I am looking forward.

Olympic Selection On the 3rd of January 2006 all athletes eligible for the Winter Olympics had a push competition to determine the crew. The night before the selection we all stayed at the Olympic training centre in Lofer, Austria. The next morning all the brakemen where weighed and there weight difference would be added to the sled. We then drove to Koningsee, Germany to use the push track for the selection. We warmed up for 45 minutes before the selection started. The timing clocks weren't working at the start so we had a 20 minute delay. Eventually we got started and the day begun. We had to do one push of the back and one from the side and another of your choice. Everybody encouraged one another till the end of the session. The times were collected and would be calculated and we would get the verdict later in the week.
The athletes competing were as follows: Dan Humphries Karl Johnston Martin Wright Steve Smith Marcus Adams Steve Stacey
The athletes selected for the second half of the season / Olympic Team were as follows Dan Humphries Martin Wright Karl Johnston Marcus Adams
